Texas Deputy Arrested on Suspicion of ‘Unlawfully Strip-Searching’ 6 Women

Texas Deputy in Custody for Alleged ‘Unlawful Strip Searches’ of 6 Women in 2 Weeks

A Texas sheriff’s deputy was arrested Saturday for allegedly unlawfully strip-searching at least six women in less than two weeks.

49-year-old Floyd Berry, an 18-year-old veteran with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested and charged with three misdemeanor counts of official oppression, according to investigators.

The deputy was placed on leave after several people reported his alleged misconduct.

According to officials, Berry had ‘unlawfully strip-searched” six women on patrol in late November and early December.

Berry was booked into the Adult Detention Center with bail set at $45,000.

Authorities urge anyone who has information about the deputy’s alleged misconduct to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Public Integrity Unit.
