Huntington Beach, California (December 10, 2019) – 57-year-old Mario Gomez has been identified as the man who was
killed in a bicycle accident that occurred on Friday morning in Huntington
The fatal bicycle accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. December 6, at Gothard Street and Heil Avenue.
According to a local news source, Gomez was
riding a bicycle in the area when he was struck by an SUV.
Gomez sustained major injuries and was
transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he was pronounced brain dead
on Sunday afternoon.
The 34-year-old Huntington Beach man who was driving the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
An investigation to determine the cause of the bicycle accident is ongoing.
