Auburn, California (December 7, 2019) – A fatality was reported following a multi-vehicle collision in
Auburn on Friday evening.
The accident happened on Highway 49 near Joeger
Road at about 8:15 p.m. December 6.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, a woman was driving a Lexus sedan with a missing tire southbound on the roadway when she drifted into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a second car.
A third vehicle was involved
in the accident.
The unidentified woman was
pronounced dead at the scene.
Two occupants of the second car
had to be extricated before being transported to the hospital for treatment in
Highway 4, between Bell and
Florence, was closed as the authorities examined the scene.
