A 23-year-old woman sustained serious burns after being set on fire while heading for her rape case hearing in India.
The rape victim was going to court in Uttar Pradesh state for the hearing of a case she filed against two men in March.
The authorities said the girl was ambushed by a group of men and dragged to a nearby field in Unnao district where she was assaulted before being set on fire.
The girl, whose name was not immediately disclosed, sustained 90% burn injuries and was taken to a hospital in Lucknow city before being flown to the capital, Delhi, for intensive care.
The police have already arrested five men including two alleged rapists on suspicion of the assault.
