(December 5, 2019) – A woman was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run
pedestrian accident that occurred last month in Union area.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened at Olympic Boulevard and Lake Street at about 2:30 p.m. November 21.
The California Highway Patrol said 38-year-old Emilio Perez
was pushing a cart in the area and was hit by a light-colored Tesla Model 3.
Perez was seriously injured and was taken to a local hospital
where he died on November 25.
35-year-old Vanessa Gutierrez, who the police had identified
as the person of interest, surrendered to the Los Angeles Police Department’s
Central Traffic Division. She was booked
on suspicion of hit-and-run.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
