A farm fire that broke out in Jordan early Monday morning left thirteen Pakistani nationals dead, the civil defense department (CDD) said.
The fire spread across a farm in South Shouna, west of the capital Amman, destroying the corrugated iron sheds housing laborers.
CDD believes the fire was caused by an electrical fault, but an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Among those killed in the inferno were eight children. Three other people sustained burns and are currently receiving treatment.
Jordan Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz sent his condolences to the families of the victims and government of Pakistan, promising to expedite an investigation into the tragic incident.
