Fresno, California (December 2, 2019) – A man was killed in a suspected DUI car accident that left a woman seriously injured in Fresno on Sunday morning.
The accident happened on Highway 99 near Clinton Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. December 1, according to a local news source.
28-year-old Joshua Eisen and 28-year-old Jennifer Ramos were traveling in their 2014 Subaru when they crashed for unknown reasons.
The two exited the car and were assessing the damage on their car when they were hit by a 2007 Honda Civic driven by 22-year-old Amado Mendez Ventura.
The Honda also reportedly into the Subaru after hitting the two bystanders.
Eisen was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Ramos was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Ventura and an unidentified passenger in the Honda were unhurt. Ventura was later arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail on charges of DUI causing death, gross vehicular manslaughter and driving without a license.
No further information was provided.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
