The Tunisian Ministry of Public Health has said 26 people were killed after a bus veered off the road and crashed into a ravine in northwestern Tunisia.
The incident happened t in a mountainous region of the country near the town of Ain Draham.
The authorities said the bus was traveling from the capital Tunis to Ain Draham when the accident happened. The picturesque town is a popular destination for domestic tourists.
The ministry had reported that 22 out of the 43 people on board were killed in the crash but four more passengers later succumbed to their injuries.
Tunisian President Kais Saied and Prime Minister Youssef Chahed visited the site where twisted remains of the bus were recovered.
The authorities are yet to establish the cause of the accident.
