Woman Struck and Injured by Car on 54th Street at University Avenue in City Heights


City Heights, California (December 1, 2019) – A pedestrian sustained injuries after being struck by a car in San Diego on Saturday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on 54th Street at University Avenue at about 7:15 p.m. November 30.

A woman was reportedly walking westbound across the intersection when she was hit by a car driven by a 78-year-old man.

The authorities said the 40-year-old woman sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.            

No further information was provided.

The authorities are investigating the cause of the auto-pedestrian accident.
