Sydney Bettencourt Struck and Killed by Car on First Street at Larch Lane in Livermore


Livermore, California (November 27, 2019) – The authorities have disclosed the name of a 78-year-old Livermore woman who died after being hit by a car in Livermore on Friday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. November 22, on First Street at Larch Lane.

Sydney Gay Bettencourt was reportedly driving a car southbound when she crashed into the center divider.

The driver exited the vehicle and was struck by a northbound car.

Bettencourt succumbed to injuries she sustained in the accident.

The male driver of the car that struck the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

No further information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
