Santa Clara County, California (November 27, 2019) – A 16-year-old boy was killed in a two-car collision that left two other people injured in Sunnyvale on Tuesday morning, the police said.
The fatal accident happened at the transition ramp from southbound Highway 85 to southbound Highway 280 at about 11 a.m. November 26.
The California Highway Patrol said a 1999 ford F-Series dump truck and 2003 Toyota Corolla were involved in the collision.
As per the police report, The Toyota driver lost control while trying to pass the Ford F and struck a tree before it swerved back into the roadway and collided with the Ford.
The teenage boy who was riding in the Toyota was ejected from the car following the crash.
The unidentified boy sustained major injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
A 42-year-old Toyota driver and a 46-year-old female passenger were hospitalized with minor injuries
The names of the victims were not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
