Ship Carrying 14,000 Sheep Overturns in the Black Sea, Off Romanian Coast

The Coast Guard Rescued all the 22 Crew Members

A sheep carrying more than 14,000 sheep overturned in the Black Sea near the south-eastern city of Constanța, Romanian authorities reported on Sunday.

The large Palau-flagged ship with 22 crew members is reported to have left the port of Midia when the incident happened.

The authorities said all crew members, all Syrian nationals, were rescued from the capsized ship. One person, however, was transported to the hospital with hypothermia.

At least 32 sheep were rescued from the Queen Hind, and more were expected to be rescued on Monday night after being paused overnight.

The police, the Romanian Coast Guard and firefighters were involved in the rescue operations.
