Italian Coast Guard Rescues 149 People Including 3 Children from the Boat


The Italian Coast Guard has said more than twenty people are still missing after a boat that was carrying migrants capsized on Saturday morning in the Mediterranean Sea.

The authorities said the boat was transporting more than 160 migrants when it capsized near the Italian island of Lampedusa.

The Coast Guard responded to the incident and rescued three a total of 149 people, including three children and thirteen women.

Survivors from the boat said more than twenty people are still missing.

The authorities said a huge storm caused the boat to capsize.
