Man Killed in Bicycle Accident at Airport Street and Stanford Avenue in Half Moon Bay


Half Moon Bay, California (November 19, 2019) – A 59-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday evening as he rode his bicycle in Half Moon Bay.

According to the CHP, the incident happened at around 6:09 p.m. November 18, at Airport Street and Stanford Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol said a man was riding his bicycle northbound on Airport Street and was hit by a southbound Toyota Sienna driven by Muyuan Zhu, 33, of East Palo Alto.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the victim was not immediately disclosed.

Zhu stopped after the accident and cooperated with the detectives.

Drugs, alcohol, and speed were not suspected to be factors in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
