Porterville, California (November 14, 2019) – A man died after being struck by a car in Porterville on Wednesday evening, November 13.

According to a local news source, the accident occurred at about 7:44 p.m. at Locust Avenue and Hockett Street.

The California Highway Patrol said a man was walking in the area when he was struck by a 2009 GMC Sierra that was traveling westbound on the roadway.

The pedestrian was killed in the accident. The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

The female driver of the car was unhurt.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
