San Diego, California (November 14, 2019) – A 46-year-old man was hospitalized following a pedestrian accident early Thursday morning in Southcrest, San Diego.
According to a report by the San Diego police, the accident happened at about 4:15 a.m. in the 3600 block of National Avenue, near 36th Street and east of Otto Plaza shopping center.
A man was driving a black Lincoln SUV westbound on National Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he swerved to the right and hit a 46-year-old man who was getting into his parked car along the north curb of the road.
Lincoln reportedly crashed into about five other vehicles that were parked in that area.
The motorist fled the scene and was yet to be located. The suspect was described as a 5-foot-7 man in his 30s with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a black hat and a white T-shirt.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries including a spinal fracture and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
