1 Killed in San Diego Pedestrian Accident Involving Amtrak Train at Taylor Street

San Diego, California (November 15, 2019) – The San Diego Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident involving an Amtrak train that happened on Thursday morning in Old Town, San Diego.

According to a police report, the fatal accident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. November 14, in the 4000 block of Taylor Street.

The police said a pedestrian was struck by an Amtrak train in the area for unknown reasons.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the pedestrian was not immediately disclosed pending notification of next-of-kin.

Taylor Street was closed between Congress Street and Pacific Highway as crews examined the scene.

No additional information concerning the accident was available.

The accident is under investigation.
