Perris, California (November 13, 2019) – The authorities have arrested one person in connection with a suspected DUI car accident that left at least one person in Perris on Saturday evening.

The fatal accident happened at about 7:15 p.m. November 9, in the area of Dunlap Drive and San Jacinto Avenue, according to a local news source.

The California Highway Patrol said 27-year-old Lizbet Diaz of Riverside was driving a car eastbound on San Jacinto Avenue when she crashed into two parked vehicles before hitting a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was killed in the accident. The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.

Diaz was injured in the accident and was treated before being arrested on suspicion of DUI. She was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.

No further information was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
