Authorities say a large amount of medical supplies, including needles, turned up on a California beach Sunday morning, prompting a closure of some sections of the beach.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department’s lifeguard division tweeted that a large amount of supplies were discovered along the shoreline South of the Venice Beach Pier.
Crews cordoned off the area and notified other agencies. They later reopened the area.
Investigators said they had not yet established how the items got on the beach. They were patrolling the area further for possible extra materials.
