Sacramento, California (November 11, 2019) – A 35-year-old Sutter Creek man was killed in a suspected DUI
car accident that occurred on Saturday night in South Sacramento.
According to a report by the California
Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 8 p.m. November 9, in the area
of Calvine and Bader roads.
33-year-old Steven Bhardwaj from Plymouth was
driving a Honda Accord northbound on Bader Road when he failed to stop for a
red light and crashed into a Toyota SUV.
Paramedics were called to the scene and
attended to a Sutter Creek man and another 51-year-old man who were in the
The two were transported to the hospital where
one man was pronounced dead on arrival.
Bhardwaj was extricated from his vehicle
before being taken to a hospital with minor injuries. He was later arrested and
booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of DUI.
The police are still investigating the cause
of the accident.
