San Diego, California (November 8, 2019) – Two drivers were seriously injured in a head-on collision in the Pala area of San Diego on Friday afternoon.
According to a local news source, the accident happened at about 2 p.m. on Highway 76 near Magee Road.
The California Highway Patrol said two vehicles collided head-on for unknown reasons.
The motorists, identified only as a 27-year-old Carlsbad man and a 66-year-old Escondido resident, had to be extricated from the damaged vehicles.
The two were transported to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
The collision resulted in the temporary shutdown of the roadway.
No further information was provided.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
