Man Killed in Hollywood Pedestrian Accident on 101 Freeway near Gower Street


Hollywood, California (November 1, 2019) – A 70-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning in Hollywood, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on 101 Freeway near Gower Street at around 1:10 a.m. November 1.

As per the police report, a 70-year-old man was walking along the No. 5 lane of the freeway when a 2007 Nissan driven by 34-year-old Sanger man struck him.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the deceased was not released pending notification of next of kin.

Police said that the driver of the vehicle involved stopped and informed the authorities of the accident.
