California (November 2, 2019) – The authorities have disclosed the identity
of a man who was struck and killed by a suspected DUI driver in Long Beach on
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident
happened at about 9:55 a.m. October 31, at Country Club Drive and Los Cerritos
30-year-old Joseph Awaida, his wife and their 3-year-old son
were walking in the area when they were hit by a car driven by 20-year-old Carlo
The three pedestrians were transported to a local hospital
Sadly, Awaida later succumbed to his injuries.
Navarro was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular
