Gilroy, California (October 31, 219) –A 27-year-old Palo Alto man was killed in a car accident that left two people injured in Gilroy on Wednesday morning, the CHP said.

The fatal collision happened on Highway 152 near Lovers Lane at about 6:18 a.m. October 30.

According to the California Highway Patrol report, a westbound Toyota Tundra driven by a 32-year-old Los Banos man collided with a Toyota Sienna by the Palo Alto man for unknown reasons.

The unidentified driver of the Sienna suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota was rushed to San Jose Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

A 23-year-old female passenger in the Tundra was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

Both directions of Highway 152 were closed for about three and a half hours as the officers examined the scene.

No further information regarding the accident was provided.
