Cathedral City, California (October 29, 2019) – A man was seriously injured after he was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday morning in Cathedral City, according to the authorities.
The accident happened at about 7:40 a.m.,
October 29, on East Palm Canyon Drive at Allen Drive.
The CHP said a man in his mid-50s was riding
his bike in a crosswalk when, for unclear reasons, a Jeep SUV that was heading
eastbound hit him.
The bicyclist suffered serious injuries and
was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
The identity of the victim was not immediately
The SUV driver stopped at the scene after the
accident and cooperated with the authorities.
Palm Canyon between Date Palm and Cathedral
Canyon drives was closed as the investigators examined the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
