Shawn Cyphers Killed in Bicycle Accident on Quintana Road in Morro Bay


Morro Bay, California (October 26, 2019) – 55-year-old Shawn Cyphers has been identified as the bicyclist who was hit and injured by a car in Morro Bay on Thursday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 7 p.m. October 17, on Quintana Road.

Cyphers was reportedly riding a bicycle northbound on the roadway when he was struck by a car that was traveling northbound.

Cyphers sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The motorist fled the scene after the accident and is yet to be apprehended.

No further information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
