Palm Springs, California (October 24, 2019) – A bicyclist who died after being struck by a suspected hit-and-run driver in Palm Springs on Monday night has been identified as 30-year-old Raymundo Jaime of Desert Hot Springs.
The fatal bicycle accident happened at about 9:20 p.m. October 21, on South Palm Canyon Drive near Mesquite Avenue and Morongo Road.
According to a local news source, Jaime was riding a bicycle on Palm Canyon Drive when he was struck by a car for unknown reasons.
Jaime was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorist did not stop at the scene and was yet to be located.
The involved vehicle was described as a dark-colored compact sedan, possibly with a front-end damage.
No further information was provided.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is underway.
