El Cajon, California (October 23, 2019) – A man who was injured in a suspected street
racing in El Cajon earlier this month, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at about
2:03 a.m. October 8, at Chase and Lemon avenues.
The authorities said Samantha
Rezendez was driving a car on the roadway as she headed when she was struck by
a Mercedes Benz.
The impact of the collision
sent Rezendez’s car across all lanes of traffic and crashed into a barrier wall
of a nearby home.
James Jones, who was a
passenger in Rezendez’s vehicle, sustained serious injuries, including broken
ribs and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Mercedes
reportedly abandoned his vehicle and entered a second car suspected to have
been involved in the street race.
