James Jones Injured in Car Crash at Chase Avenue and Lemon Avenue

El Cajon, California (October 23, 2019) – A man who was injured in a suspected street racing in El Cajon earlier this month, according to a local news source.

The accident happened at about 2:03 a.m. October 8, at Chase and Lemon avenues.

The authorities said Samantha Rezendez was driving a car on the roadway as she headed when she was struck by a Mercedes Benz.

The impact of the collision sent Rezendez’s car across all lanes of traffic and crashed into a barrier wall of a nearby home.

James Jones, who was a passenger in Rezendez’s vehicle, sustained serious injuries, including broken ribs and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Mercedes reportedly abandoned his vehicle and entered a second car suspected to have been involved in the street race.

The suspect is yet to be located.

More details on the accident were not provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is underway.
