Man Killed in Oakley Pedestrian Accident Involving Train near Big Break Crossing


Oakley, California (October 21, 2019) – A 42-year-old man was hit and killed by a train on Sunday morning in Oakley, according to the authorities.

The fatal accident happened at about 7:20 a.m. October 20, near the Big Break crossing.

Witnesses told the police that a man was struck by the train as he sat on the tracks, about a half-mile east of the crossing.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the man lying lifelessly and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the deceased was not immediately released pending the notification of next of kin.

No other information was provided.

The accident is under investigation.
