Santa Rosa, California (October 19, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car that was involved in a collision with a second car in Santa Rosa on Friday evening.
According to a local news source, the accident happened at about 4 p.m. October 18, in the area of Cleveland Avenue and State Farm Drive.
20-year-old Deyvi Javier Pineda Arita, of Santa Rosa, is reported to have been driving a Subaru southbound on Cleveland when it sideswiped a Lexus driven by 18-year-old Jacob Elias Elliot, of Santa Rosa.
Arita reportedly lost control of the Subaru after the collision and veered off the roadway where it struck a pedestrian before crashing into a home.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Arita was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
