California (October 19, 2019) – The authorities are investigating a fatal
pedestrian accident involving a train that happened on Friday morning in Pico
The fatal accident occurred near Rex Road and Paramount
Boulevard at about 8:55 a.m., October 18.
As per a police report, a pedestrian was on the tracks for
reasons still under investigation when the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train 763
traveling from San Diego to San Luis Obispo struck him.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officials said 295 passengers were on board the train at
the time of the crash.
None of the train’s occupants was injured.
The train was delayed for over three hours after the crash
as the officers examined the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
