Yuba City, California (October 19, 2019) – A CHP officer was injured after being struck by a car as he directed traffic early Saturday morning in Yuba City.

According to a local news source, the accident happened at about 1:11 a.m. on State Route 99 at Lomo Crossing.

The unidentified officer was directing traffic at a broken railroad crossing when he was struck by an SUV.

The officer sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

No further information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
