Santa Barbara, California (October 18, 2019) – A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a car in Santa Barbara on Thursday night, October 17.

According to a local news source, the pedestrian accident happened at about 7:27 p.m. on Highway 101 at Castillo Street.

The female pedestrian was reportedly running across the roadway when he was hit by a pickup truck that was exiting the freeway.

The unidentified woman is reported to have suffered major head injuries in the collision and was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.

The motorist is reported to have remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
