Joshua Tree, California (October 17, 2019) – The authorities have disclosed the identity of a motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a collision with a car at an intersection in Joshua Tree on Monday afternoon.
According to a local news source, the motorcycle accident happened in the area of Twentynine Palms Highway and El Reposo Circle at about 4:55 p.m. October 14.
The authorities said 64-year-old Aram Barnakian
had been driving a Nissan Sentra northbound on the roadway before he stopped at the intersection.
As Barnakian began driving through the intersection, he was struck by a red Honda motorcycle operated by Jorge Gonzalez, 25, of National City.
The impact of the collision ejected the rider from his motorcycle.
Gonzalez reportedly suffered major injuries and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.
Barnakian was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center in unknown condition.
No further information was provided.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
