Santa Ana, California (October 15, 2019) – The authorities have disclosed the identity of a bicyclist who was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Santa Ana on Sunday morning, October 13.

According to a local news source, the accident happened at about 5:20 p.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Warner Avenue.

As per the report, 60-year-old Virgilio Lemus Garcia was riding a bicycle near the intersection when he was struck by a blue Honda that was traveling westbound on Warner Avenue.

Garcia sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment in critical condition.

The motorist is reported to have fled the scene after the collision and was yet to be located.

The authorities believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
