Turlock, California (October 16, 2019) – The authorities have publicly identified a teenager who was killed in a car accident in Turlock on Saturday night.

According to a local news source, the fatal collision occurred on Angelus Street near West Avenue South at about 5 p.m. October 12.

A 17-year-old driver was reportedly driving a sedan westbound on the roadway when he collided with an SUV for unknown reasons.

Good Samaritans had to extricate the teenage driver and a passenger later identified as 17-year-old Thaily Gutierrez, from the car.

The two teenagers were flown to a local hospital where Gutierrez later succumbed to her injuries.

The 18-year-old man who was driving the SUV appeared unhurt and remained at the scene.

 No further information was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
