5 Injured in Car Crash on Highway 29 near Bottle Rock Road in Clearlake


Clearlake, California (October 16, 2019) – The authorities have arrested one person in connection with a car accident that left at least five people injured in Clearlake on Saturday morning.

According to a local news source, the accident happened at about 1:46 a.m. October 12, on Highway 29 near Bottle Rock Road.

As per the report, 21-year-old Jose Velazquez was driving an Acura northbound on the roadway when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided with a second car.

The driver of the second car and a passenger were injured in the accident and were flown to Santa Rosa Memorial for treatment.

A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital. A third passenger is reported to have sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Velasquez and his passenger, 21-year-old Jorge A. Lozano, were also injured in the accident. The two were later arrested and booked into the Lake County Jail.

No further information was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
