Oxnard, California (October 12, 2019) – A cyclist who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Thursday morning has been identified as 45-year-old Javier Lopes.

According to a local news source, the bicycle accident happened at around 11:30 a.m. October 10, at East Wooley Road and Industrial Avenue.

Lopez was reportedly riding a bicycle in the westbound lane of Wooley Road when a tractor-trailer struck him.

The paramedics who responded to the incident pronounced the Bicyclist dead at the scene.

Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash, the authorities said.

The tractor-trailer driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The crash is under investigation.
