(October 10, 2019) – A bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle in
Oxnard on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal
bicycle accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. in the area of East Wooley Road
west of Saviers Road.
A 45-year-old man was reportedly riding a bicycle eastbound
in the area when he was hit by a tractor-trailer.
The unidentified bicyclist was killed in the accident.
The truck driver, a 55-year-old man, was initially believed
to have fled the scene after the accident. However, he was later apprehended
and told the authorities that he was not aware he had struck the bicyclist.
No further information was provided.
