(October 7, 2019) – A man who was killed in a two-vehicle collision on
Sunday night has been identified as an 81-year-old Thomas Royden of Del Mar.
According to a local news report, the accident happened at
about 9:40 p.m. October 6, at the intersection of Carmel Valley Road and El
Royden was riding in an SUV when a tow-truck ran a red light
and T-boned the passenger side of their vehicle.
Royden suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Scripps
Memorial. Sadly, he died while undergoing treatment.
The SUV driver was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
The driver of the tow truck stayed at the scene and
cooperated with the authorities.
