Sacramento, California (October 6, 2019) – The authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident that happened in the McClellan Park area of Sacramento on Tuesday morning, October 1.

According to a local news source, the accident happened in the area of Palm Street and Arnold Avenue.

73-year-old William Hester and his wife Deborah were crossing the street when a vehicle struck Hester.

Hester, a Vietnam War veteran, managed to push Deborah out of the way before being struck.

Hester died at the scene of the accident.

The motorist, 70-year-old William Nathaniel Beasley, fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian but was later located and arrested. He faces felony hit-and-run and manslaughter charges.
