Elderly Man Dies in Car Accident at El Camino Real and Carmel Valley Road in Carmel Valley


San Diego, California (October 7, 2019) – The San Diego Police Department is investigating a two-car crash that happened on Sunday night, killing an 81-year-old man.

The crash occurred at about 9:40 p.m. in the area of El Camino Real and Carmel Valley Road.

A Honda CRV and tow truck were involved in the tragic incident.

An 81-year-old man who was riding in the Honda sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The 71-year-old woman driving the Honda complained of pain.

The driver of the tow truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

No further details regarding the crash were available.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
