Santa Rosa, California (September 25, 2019) – An 11-year-old boy was injured after being hit by a car as he rode a bicycle in Santa Rosa on Monday evening.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the bicycle accident happened on River Road near Highway 101 at about 6 p.m. September 23.
The boy was reportedly riding his bicycle on River Road when he was hit by a Toyota Camry that was making a turn onto Highway 101 southbound on-ramp.
The unidentified boy was seriously injured in the crash and was UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland for treatment.
The motorist, 30-year-old Brandon Bonner, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
No further information on the accident was provided.
An investigation into the tragic accident is ongoing.
