Santa Cruz, California (September 24, 2019) –The authorities have identified a motorcyclist who was fatally struck by a car in Santa Cruz on Friday night.
The fatal motorcycle accident happened at about 8 p.m. September 20, on Highway 1 near Soquel Drive.
According to a local news source, 31-year-old Steven Edward Lovett was riding a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle on the roadway when he was struck by a 1998 Toyota Camry.
The impact of the collision caused the motorcycle to crash into a center divider, ejecting the rider.
Lovett, a resident of Watsonville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 35-year-old Soquel man who was driving the Toyota was unhurt.
No further information was provided.
An investigation to determine the cause of the fatal accident is underway.
