Steven Tyler Replaces Kara DioGuardi on American Idol

Steven Tyler Replaces Kara DioGuardi on American Idol – “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi has reportedly been given the boot from the show, according to a number of reports that were released today. Ellen DeGeneres also decided to leave the show, making the announcement over her Twitter account. DeGeneres had been given a lucrative four-year contract to be a judge on the show, but left after only one year on the program. Now, with Simon Cowell departing too, the only remaining judge on the program will be Randy Jackson, who has remained on the program throughout its run.

Cowell will be leaving to start a new talent show, “The X Factor,” which seems like something that “American Idol” has already turned into. DeGeneres doesn’t even have a singing background, so some fans have stated that it is hard to take her serious. She revealed her decision to leave short of the end of her contract, saying that the work schedule was too much for her.

Will Randy Jackson stay with the show? He is under contract through next year, but the show could decide to completely re-brand their judges and change the lineup completely. Jackson would likely want to stay on the show, to give the judge panel some semblance of continuity. However, no future is certain for an American Idol judge. It seems like they are changing much more frequently, ever since Paula Abdul was fired from her position on the show. They decided not to renew her contract as well.
