Elena Kagan Lesbian Controversy Wall Street Journal Softball Picture – Although Democrats may have attempted to have the matter swept under the rug, it now appears that there is proof that recently nominated Supreme Court Justice, Elena Kagan is in fact a lesbian. The rumors had surfaced in recent days, with Google inquiries into her personal life ranking highly in the trends of the search engine. According to the Wall Street Journal, the proof is contained in a yearbook photo of her in which she is playing softball and holding a bat. Softball has long been considered to be a “lesbian” pastime, and the picture is not going to help her keep a lid on the story.
“Personally I think the newspaper, which happens to have the largest circulation of any in the US, might as well have gone with a headline that said, ‘Lesbian or switch-hitter,’ said John Wright, of the gay newspaper Dallas Voice.
Other gay and lesbian advocacy groups have spoken out against the Wall Street Journal article as well. Recently, Cathy Renna, a former spokesperson for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, said: “It clearly is an allusion to her being gay. It’s just to easy a punch line.”
The Wall Street Journal responded by stating that the allegations are “absurd,” and that their attempt was not to make connections between her sexual orientation and her softball picture. The White House responded to recent reports claiming that Kagan would be the first homosexual appointed to the court with a strong denial that she was homosexual.
“I did not go out with her, but other guys did,” said Mr Elliot Spitzer, a fellow undergraduate at Princeton. “I don’t think it is my place to say more.”
