Carl Paladino Compares Health Care Bill To 9/11

Carl Paladino Compares Health Care Bill To 9/11 – Carl Paladino, an upstate republican millionaire running for governor lashed out at President Obama’s health care plan in recent days. He has said that the health care plan will kill more people than the attacks did on September 11th. While many people have already stood up against the claims that Paladino has made, there is an under set of republicans who tend to believe that Paladino may have hit the nail on the head with his recent remarks on the health care bill. Paladino made his statement on 790 AM this morning. He said that “the day that bill was passed will be remembered just as 9/11 was remembered in history. It was an attempt by these people in Washington to deny the Constitution.”

While many believe that certain pieces of the current bill violate the constitution, others have stated that that is up to interpretation and that there is no easy way to interpret the constitution. Families of the victims of the 9/11 attacks have been writing into and calling various stations throughout the day to voice their displeasure with the statements that were made by Paladino on the radio yesterday. The politician has yet to apologize for the statements that he made, only saying that the statements were taken out of context and his meaning was much different from how it sounded when he originally said it. Others have raised issue with politicians using 9/11 to further causes that have absolutely nothing to do with that fateful day. Detractors have said that it is not done in good taste, and that the subjects that the day is used to attack are not relevant to the terrorists attacks that took place on that day.
