Sean Penn Wyclef Jean Feud – Sean Penn has made it increasingly clear that he is not a supporter of Wyclef Jean. Jean first came under fire when he was accused of taking funds from his Haitian charity. He received six figures for a single performance from his own charity. Many said that they thought that he would perform for his own charity for free. Jean denied the charges against him and said that he has never taken money that could instead of gone to the Haitian people. Now, with his announcement that he would like to run for President in the country, Sean Penn is speaking out, stating that he is “very suspicious.”

“This is somebody who’s going to receive an enormous amount of support from the United States, and I have to say I’m very suspicious of it, simply because he, as an ambassador at large, has been virtually silent. For those of us in Haiti, he has been a non-presence,” Penn said.

Penn is a very political active Hollywood star, who is not afraid to speak out against certain injustices that he sees. Penn was very active on the ground in Haiti in the months that followed the devastating earthquake. Penn went on to say that he thought that the claims made against Wyclef during that time period should be investigated before he is allowed to run for President of the Country.

Penn said that he was worried that American corporations would become enamored with him running for President in the country, and that he would receive enough support to win the election.

Wyclef Jean talked to Gayle King earlier today where he blasted Penn saying:

“He hasn’t seen me for six months—I’ve been going to Haiti for over five years. I am not absent in Haiti, maybe the tent city you’re in, maybe I’m absent in that.My country is not a city of tents, meaning I can’t use the excuse of people living in tents to say that I’m going to make Haiti a better place. I would like to tell Sean Penn I do not react on emotions when it comes to the Haitian people.I do not have to sacrifice my life and live inside of the tents to prove I am for the Haitian people.“

  1. Sean Penn is extremely jealous of Wyclef Jean. He claims he loves Haitians, and then trashes one of the most beloved sons of Haiti without having all the facts.
Who’s the hypocrite. There’s a lot of hate toward Wyclef, because he’s a successful black man who has confidence. Most Haitians who do not want to see Wyclef become President are members of the establishment in Haiti who stand to lose a lot of illegal privileges, like not paying taxes on anything, not ever!, no exaggeration!. They never have. Imagine if rich people in the US never paid taxes. They also have a monopoly on business in the country by keeping the Diaspora and foreign businesses at bay, therefore, no competition. When they travel abroad, they “pass” as non-Haitians because most people don’t know there are white Haitians. So they don’t have to deal with the “shame/stigma” of being Haitian. Haitians will not vote for them so they bribe new poor presidents with money & women from their class. They will try to kill Wyclef and/or kill Sean Penn and make it seem like Wyclef did it. Penn has no idea how politics really work in Haiti. Thats what Wyclef is trying to change.
