The North Mexico authorities confirm the detention of 3 people related to the killing of 2 young migrants from Honduran near the border city, Tijuana. The state prosecutor at Baja California mentioned in their statement that these victims were apparently killed during the robbery that occurred on Saturday.
The victims came across this robbery after leaving the shelter space for the underage migrants. Their dead bodies were found later in the alley by central Tijuana. The bodies had stab wounds along with strangulation signs which were the probable cause of death.
The statement also mentioned the victims’ age to be somewhere around 16-17 years. However, another youth that tagged along was lucky enough to escape the scenario. The authorities have now arrested 2 men as well as a woman under murder suspicion along with other charges.
The news media reports that these victims had reached Tijuana with the caravan that comprised of 6000+ migrants. These migrants reached the city border last month. The Baja California is one among Mexico’s locale with highest homicide percentage going at 63.57 for every 100,000 inhabitants. Last year, the figure railed close to 58.11 for every 100,000 inhabitants.
