Air And Water Show Chicago 2010 is On: 52nd Annual Chicago Air and Water Show – The 52nd Annual Chicago Air and Water show is among the most popular air and water show in the United States. Every year the festival attracts hundreds of thousands of individuals to watch as the blue angels and other military planes perform over the water. There are also a number of boats and hydroplane races that take part in the event, making it the largest free show of its kind in the United States.

Actor Vince Vaughn will kick the show off by performing a tandem jump with members of the US Army Parachute Team Golden Knights. They will be landing on North America beach to give a start to the festivities and kick things off in the right way. Vaughn isn’t the only star that will be taking part this weekend, either.
Members of both the US Nay and the US Air Force will be bringing some of the fastest and largest planes in creation including the Navy’s Blue Angels and parachute team Leap Frogs.

The best civilian air teams in the country, including the Lima Lima Flight Team and the Firebirds will also be making appearances at the 2010 Chicago Air and Water Show, which is currently the largest free show of its kind in the United States. The show starts at 11 AM on Saturday, and runs through 4 PM on Sunday.

The Blues ran shorthanded today, and reduced their performance compared to yesterday (no high altitude maneuvers). Any comments, official or otherwise?

  2. Something strange happened right before (and during!) the Blue Angels performance on Sunday — commercial air traffic, right where they shouldn’t be. And it wasn’t one plane, it was at least 5 (one, a 747)! No one seems to be talking about this today, but someone must have made a mistake to allow those planes to approach O’Hare from above the lakefront, during the air show!
